Descending from the hill of Cupramontana, you can easily ascend to the ancient town of Apiro, dominated by the mass of Mount St. Vicino. Halfway there, you’ll reach the ruins of the hermitage of St. Francis of Favete (with a small, charming church, now privately owned), belonging to the nearby Abbey of St. Urbano, most likely visited by Francis during one of his journeys in the Marche region.
Within the town of Apiro, you can admire both the Church, with its beautiful portal, and the ancient Convent of St. Francis, as well as the Church and the Monastery of the Poor Clares.
