The itinerary continues to Jesi, the main city of the Franciscan Custody, which preserves the memory of Saint Francis’ visit, especially through the monumental church of Saint Francis, now called Saint Mark, adorned with frescoes from the Rimini school dating back to the 1300s. This truly monumental church is now the home of the Carmelite Nuns’ monastery, which has been established in this ancient Franciscan site in the city for many years.
Next to them, there is a Monastery of Poor Clares today, and not far away is the Church and Convent of the Capuchin Friars of Saint Peter Martyr, from which its name suggests it was once the location of the Dominican Friars’ Convent.
