From Matelica, our itinerary takes us to either Castelraimondo or Esanatoglia, depending on the chosen route, to leave the Esino Valley and reach the Potenza Valley. If you choose the Esino Valley, you’ll arrive at Esanatoglia, another city with Franciscan roots and connotations, as it’s home to a Hermitage, St. Jerome, a Church, and a Convent of St. Francis and St. Apollonia of the Conventual Franciscan Friars, as well as a Church and Convent of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars.
